Shaker hood question
« on: August 08, 2007 - 01:03:29 PM »
My buddy asked me if you could get 4 bbl Shaker hoods from the factory in 1970 1971 Cuda or Challenger. I believe the answer is yes. Didn't 383 cars come with a single 4bbl? Not sure on Challys but thought this was teh way with Cuda's. javascript:void(0);
:clueless:Thx

Smitty,  I believe you are correct and that you could get a shaker hood with a 4 barrel carb.   :bigsmile:

For what it's worth, there was only ONE U-code 440/727 Challenger R/T known to have been built in '70 (according to Lord Galen), it was an interesting color combo of DY3 Cream with a V1W white vinyl top, V9E red bumble-bee stripe and a H6E4 red vinyl interior.  I remember seeing a picture of it for sale as a non-running project in Canada a few years back.  I wonder if anyone here knows the car?  Strangley except for this one, all 4bbl R/T's in '70 were 383 or 340 cars.

Actually there's at least one more. There's a black on black 1970 Challenger R/T, 440+4 N96 car out here in Post Falls Idaho, I verified it myself, it's legitimate.

When the Gumbers Nuru checked the Rapid Transit Road Runner I think I read that he told the owner to put it back to stock and get rid of the rectangular headlights and the rest of the mods that the factory had done to the car, lol what a maroon.
