Can someone tell me the purpose of this wire?
It says fusible link.
When I move it,I have no ignition, lights or power to any part of my car.
Can I pick this wire up at any auto parts store.

I'm not sure about picking one up locally, but I bought one from Year One.  :money:

Yep, that little guy will stop you dead in the water if it blows, or is dry-rotten. It's purpose is to stop too much current going into the rest of the wiring. In other words, if something should happen to short out, this link would blow to stop a meltdown/fire.

you can buy fusable link at most auto parts stores , you will need to cut it to length & add the ends you need if you want to make your own
