Cuda A/C controls
« on: August 31, 2007 - 11:03:06 AM »
The former owner removed most of the A/C in my 73 Cuda and I'm in the process of undoing the damage. Thanks to a wiring diagram, I was able to figure out how to hook up the blower motor again (owner had yanked and clipped the power feed wire - - grrrr!!!). But I'm hoping that someone can tell me where the vacuum hose under the blower motor hooks up. The hose seems to go through a grommet in the firewall to the interior. I think this is a vacuum feed for the A/C controls, but I'm not sure. Of course, the hose has been cut so I can't tell if/where it connected. It's just dangling below the blower motor.
Hope someone can help me figure this out. Thanks!

On the factory AC the vacuum source line is one of a loom of rubber lines that connects with a single rubber fitting to the back of the controller. The lines run from the driver side of the dash all the way over to varios actuators on the AC plenum. The source line however, continues thru the firewall grommet into the engine bay and connects to a 1/8" diameter vacuum fitting that screws into the intake manifold

Mike, thanks for the quick response!
So the vacuum line below the blower motor is the one that I have to connect to the vacuum fitting on the intake manifold?
