1970 CHEAP BARRACUDA!
« on: August 14, 2007 - 09:23:37 PM »
I know this is not the greatest one I have posted here but it is a decent cruiser. I just thought I'd post it and see what kind of feedback I'd get. It is a nice cruiser for under 30k but I do realize that it is not a flawless show car. Just let me know what you think. Also, if anyone can help me out with this. I posted this thread in the VIN section of the forum but it doesnt seem to be getting any traffic..

Thanks,

The only thing I really find irksome about the car is the '72 plus fenders and front turn signals.

Agreed. It is a 70 but the previous owner used those fenders, why I don't really know. I know the car was a pretty straight car and we got a "fair" deal on it but that was part of the deciding factor when we purchased it. That was really the only thing that kinda bothered us. The rest of the car was really straight and seemed to be a pretty easy project.

Is that 71 seat covers on it? 72 rally's?  I guess it's mix and match day. Do the wipers go into park?  The tail pipe brakets are different then what to be expected. This car isnt even close to what you usually show us. I am disappointed. Even the model has more clothes on then usual . But she is a trade mark and belongs in the pictures.
You didnt do this car, did you Shawn?  You do like green tho

The black paint doesn't look black enough and the valance fitment is almost as bad as mine is  :dunno:
I found it a little strange that you made it a point to say that almost all of the sheetmetal was original except Fenders, hood, quarters, trunk floor....

Wouldn't it have been easier to say that the driver's door and maybe the roof are original  :naughty:

Kidding. I like the ad alot better then the last couple and the girl looks really cute dressed that way. Reminds me of some old Mopar ads where the girl is going shopping in her Plymouth but later she is going sailing.

lmao  :roflsmiley: yea we did'nt really do this one. The only things we did was put a motor, transmission, redid the wiring, redid the interior, painted the underside, repainted the paint scheme on top because it was a glossy black, the exhaust, the wheels, and both the front and rear wind shield. We had planned on taking it completely down to the metal, replacing the fenders, etc. but we have so many projects going on right now, we just thought it would be easier to make it a nice affordable driver and be done with it. We got a couple Hemi Challenger four speed cars that we are trying to move to the top of the priority list. We just have to move some of these smaller ones out of the way first. You guy's did some what hit it on the nail though. We did not go all out but we did try to make it as nice as possible with out having to spend a fortune on it.
