I'd rather see an Impala wasted as another General Lee than ruining what could have been a nice 69 Charger.

No offense to anyone who has a General Lee here, but I don't think the world needs another friggin Lee. ;)

I thought I replied to this thread early this morning. I wish all the Duke cars were Impalas lol. Makes me sick to think how many extra Chargers died during the years that show was being made.

Although the exact number of General Lees used varies from different sources, according to Ben Jones ("Cooter" in the show), as well as builders involved with the show, 309 General Lees were used to film the series. Approximately twenty-three still exist in various states of repair, including the first General Lee

In Redding there is a VW beetle (old one not new one) that is painted like the general but it says 1/4 on the door instead of 01, but I never seem to be lucky enough to have my camera with me when I see it.

I looked all over the internet, but can't find it. I seen an article and pictures of a General Grant too. Was a dark blue charger with the Union Flag - Pretty cool looking.
