A friend of mine bought a used truck, and paid $1500 for an extended warranty. His transmission went out ($5600 to fix), and the warranty company told him they wouldn't cover it because he "altered" the vehicle by putting glasspacks on it instead of the stock mufflers. What a crock!
What kind of truck cost $5600 to repair the transmission! :clueless:

Just as a heads up,I get a lot of people that come into the shop with a vehicle that they bought an "extended warranty" on. It is not a surprise to me any more when I call the phone number on their paper work and find out the company went out of business. It seems like that is the thing for extended warranty company's to do is,take the customers $1000 to $2000 payments, then go out of business and not have to pay any repairs! :villagers:

It's a Chevy truck, not sure of the year, but probably a 2001 to 2003. I think its a 3/4 ton. The $5600 is a quote from the Chevy dealer that he took it to.

Well, if the warranty doesn't say anything about not covering Vipers, I'm sure it'll cover a Challenger.  It is after all just a retooled 300/Magnum/Charger platform with pretty much the same powertrain and everything else.  The LY is a shortened LX - nothing special there.

They don't cover the SRT's 'cause they KNOW we're gonna beat the hell out of 'em.  (As well we should!)
