Actually stroker, you should keep your car.
1)  you were created in 1970
2) you were zero yrs old in 1971
3) you were 1 yrs old in 72

So 70 would be a recreation in progress and 72 would be a real life experience :stirpot:

Now for SIDS,   Should we shake you into sense?  you got a nice car-drive it-enjoy it :2cents: :burnout: :ylsuper: :bananasmi

I would clone that beauty if you wanted the look of a 71----you already have the quarter scoops and one sweet car.

If you have a similar plan for the '71 I'd strip your '72 down and build it back to stock or sell it as a roller.  You'll probably only get $0.10 or $0.20 on the dollar for what you've invested in the power train and other upgrades.  Just an idea. Advice is cheap and sometimes worth what you paid for it. :smilielol:

True. Grill, tail panel, marker lights. The 73 is already a combination of mulitple years so combine the parts you want to get the look your after. I think it goes deeper than just appearance in this case. Consider this, half of the 71s out there were built in 70. Is that an issue?

Very good point.  Used performance parts don't command premium dollars whether dis-assembled or complete and this car is built to suit some pretty individual tastes. Score a 71 project as complete as possible and rebuild it with all the good stuff from the 73.  Put all the old used stuff on the 73 and sell it as a project with a good paint job. Body and paint are the two biggest obstacles to a large number of buyers. Replacing mechanical parts is easy by comparison and guys who are willing to tackle a complete driveline swap won't even try pulling the trigger on a spray gun.

no fake 71's here......like I said I was born in october 71 and want a 71 model....my 72 was made 1/16/72...
not looking for a 71 with equivalant HP...nice car with nice interior and suspension mods/rims.... I am going to building a different type of 440 motor....  :burnout:

If you find the right guy you might get more but I don't think you get a big premium for power train upgrades over a "restored to stock" car.  I know how much it costs to upgrade a power train.  All I am saying is that is that if a guy could find a stock motor, tranny and diff and paint it up nice and do a swap you might be further ahead than starting all over again - just something to think about.  I was thinking about doing this to my Cuda and selling the stroker separate but I doubt I would get enough for a used engine to make it worth my while.
