So how do you keep the outer edge of the fender from distorting while you are rolling the inside? Seems like if you did not know what you were doing you could really dink up your fenders and quarters

The guy in the pic is using a heat gun. I guess it would be fairly simple to do before a paint job. My car is in guide coat ready for the first block sanding, would it be worth it to do? I had some 295/50/15's on my 70 340 'Cuda and although nothing stuck out of the fenderwell I had to use air shocks to keep the quarters from rubbing the tire. I would love to put meats the size of a viper or that range but I dont think that is being very realistic.
