    Harmonic balancer question

    My 360's balancer has some of the rubber packing coming loose. Is there something I should be before I re-install this part? No, I can't afford a new one at this time, but I wondered if I should try to epoxy/glue the loose stuff.

    Don't fit the balancer, it is starting to deterioate, a new or rebuilt one is the only way to go. I have seen these come off usually with expensive results. It is much cheaper and easier now.  :bananasmi

    Buy a used one to save some cash right now, but don't try to cheap out that much and glue it on!! 10lbs of steel turning at 5000 rpms is a lot of momentum that could punch a nice dent in your hood, rad etc.

    Mine shifted (cracked all the way around and rotated about 10°) on my 72 340 (externally balanced) and caused terrible vibrations.  God only knows what extra wear that did to the bearings.
