440 Six Pack Troubleshooting
« on: August 25, 2007 - 08:30:16 AM »
Just got my 440-6pk cuda and me and my mechanic are trying to get the six pack tuned so it doesn't bog down so much when I lay into it.  Looking for any good diagrams, troubleshooting guides, tuning guides, etc for the six pack setup.

Thanks

Factory service manual will have what you need , is it bogging on the center carb or secondarys ?

If it's bogging on the secondaries, you might neet to put heavier springs in the vacuum pods.

Just did my 6pack swap this summer.

I had not a bog, but a slight hesitation.    Changing the squirter size in the main carb made a vast difference.   I play with the acclrtr cams ocassionally but it seems like they are less of an impact compared to changing the shooters.

are your carbs new, used or rebuilt ?

cams adjust volume of fuel moved / degree of throttle shaft movement & total volume , shooters change how fast the fuel is delivered

What would be the best center carb jets and power valve to start with on a basic stock 6pack with cast exhaust manifolds and 6pack resto cam?
