Ajustable Distributors
« on: August 24, 2007 - 03:08:01 PM »
Sorry, new to Mopars.  I am looking for distributors in which the mechanical advance (the amount, not just the rate) is adjustable.  What is available out there for big blocks.  The vacuum should be adjustable too, but I am sure if they allow adjustment of the mechanical amount, they have adjustable cans too.

In other words I want to decide if it will give me 10, 12, 15°, etc. centrifugal advance on top of the intial setting.

Thanks.

The New Mopar dists offer what you want , they limit the mechanical advance & you can change springs to alter the rate & the vacuum advance is also adjustable

What CP said..Or MSDD, or Mallory, or Crane. I like the newest MSD that you simply turn a dial for them, and it has a built in rev control, and no external module.

I don't think the EZ curve is available for BB Mopars yet is it?  Those are nice.

I thought the MSDs still required you to change offset cam bushings to change the total mechanical advance.  I don't know if this is any easier than the MP units that require the screws to be loosed before adjusting the plates.  It's still a ***** on small blocks as you really need to pull the distributor. Digital control would be nice!

WTF, The only thing I could find on their website was the smallblock!  The Digital E Curve - the one that uses no weight, springs etc. just flip some switches.  Help me out, got a p/n?  I so want one.
