Looking for a full-frame AAR hood.
« on: September 07, 2007 - 10:58:16 PM »
I remember reading here about an aftermarket AAR hood reproduction that had a full length frame. I don't recall who made it though.

As far as I know, real AAR hoods had a short frame that went about half way down, no latch, was held on by pins, and had light hinge springs.

My custom build is going to have an AAR hood without pins, so we need to figure out a latching mechanism. I figure a hood with a full length frame is a better start.

Any ideas? Anyone know the company that makes it by any chance?

I'm trying to find my build book with Joe Rogan's Sick Fish to see how they handled the pinless hood, but I can't seem to dig it up. :(

Most of the hoods I have seen havea similar frame to the factory hood which has the rib across the front where the latch would be positioned on a steel hood , I would think you could either make a plate over the rib or have one built inside the rib to hold the normal latch

I figured out it was Year One that made the long frame hood.
