71 Challenger, 440, $11,000, Monroe, NY

This was on a Pontiac site - performance years at http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3026218&posted=1#post3026218

Not my car, I know nothing about it.

71 CHALLENGER F/S WITH 440!!!
Location: MONROE, NY 10950

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A friend of mine has a nice 71 Challenger F/S with a big block 440 crate motor, 727 torqueflight tranny on the floor with console, black interior, lime green exterior (forgot the Mopar name for this color)(originally was red), body seemes to be in good shape and paint is nice. Has new floor and trunk pans. Nice rims and tires.
I am doing this for a friend and do not have any pics, if you are serious you can come view the car or get in touch with me on the board and we can go from there.. The car is worth about fifteen grand, he is asking $11,000 which I thought was a very good price, 71 Challengers are highly sought after and this car is in good shape.

I drove almost 2 hours to see this car today and it is not worth it. It has extensive rot on most body panels which was then painted over. It will need both 1/4's, 1 door, rear panel under the window and possibly both front fenders. I didn't even stay to open the hood. The owner said he did not have a vin when we spoke, but it was originally a big block car--wrong--according to the numbers it was a 318 car with an on the column auto. Maybe worth 1/2 of what he is asking but be prepared to do a LOT of work.
