Gearshift Bracket the Same For All Torqueflites?
« on: September 02, 2007 - 03:39:30 PM »
Well, I'm just about ready to get my car back on the road after about 7 years and I have a question.  I bought this car with a police car engine and trans, and I think whoever installed it left out a few "extra" parts like the kickdown linkage and shifter bracket.  I believe there is supposed to be some sort of bracket that bolts to the tailshaft that the gear shift rod sits in to keep it from flopping around.  I've found this bracket for 727's from a few vendors, and I was wondering if this also fits the 904 which I have.  Thanks!

There are a few different brackets, the difference is not 904 or 727,it is what car they came off of. They have a little different bend to them, not sure if it hurts anything though.
