Flywheel and pressure plate...
« on: August 25, 2007 - 06:41:28 PM »
Will this:

http://www.monicattichrysler.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=766

Work with this:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=HAY%2D50%2D105&N=700+4294908110+115&autoview=sku

For a 5.7 Hemi with manual 5 speed?  I got a 5 speed from a 2002 Ram 1500, so I would just get the correct clutch disc.

Thanks

the 2 will work together , I would use a 10.95" disc though , but I do not know if the 8 bolt flange is the same on the newer 5.7 hemi

Thanks CP.  Here is the one that they say is for the 5.7, but what would the difference be?

not nessisarily , the 2.2 also has an 8 bolt flywheel but with a miniature bolt pattern , I do not have a 5.7 flexplate to check the pattern

Bumping this with another question:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AX%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A11&viewitem=&item=200148004163

Are pressure plate bolt patterns standard?  Will this work with the 5.7 specific flywheel?

I contacted RAM Clutches, and this is what they had to say:

Quote
Steve,

I don't normally like to comment on ebay items, but a 401 pressure plate has
a bolt circle of 11.625" measure the bolt pattern on your flywheel to see if
it will bolt on. This is assuming that what he is selling is indeed a 401
pressure plate,like he said was.

Doug
RAM TECH

So with an 11 5/8 bolt circle, will it bolt up to that flywheel?  Or do I have to order it and measure it?  I could go and check my 318 flywheel, maybe they have the same pattern.

Thanks for your patience and knowledge CP.   :grinyes: :2thumbs:

there are 2 patterns I know of , the Long style with 3 pairs of bolts close together & the Borg & beck style with 6 eqaul spaced bolts , if you can see the pattern on the flywheel & it is equal spacing the clutch will bolt on if it is a B&B style
