Year one hazard switch dosn't fit steering column!!!
« on: September 11, 2007 - 12:42:34 PM »
 :clueless:
I am in the process of installing a new year one turn signal switch into my 1970 cuda steerling column, the problem i have is that the hazard swtich is too big for the steering column. The sloth allowed for it is too skinny. Before i go shaving the steerling column or the switch i just want to know if they gave me the the wrong part? Or do i have a column from something other then a 1970? Anyone encounter this before?

Thanks for the help,

I believe the 70 column has a different size (smaller emergency flasher) then the rest of them...70 only. I wouldn't cut anything on your column.  My 70 switch was different then my 72 switch

Welcome to the club!!

I just snipped away at the flasher button a little until it could move in and out without restriction. I guess they can't can't get everything right.

the repro switch is made by Standard TW7 part # , they only make the 71-74 switch & like most parts the 70s were different
