Removing rivets from 70 Challenger grill help
« on: July 12, 2009 - 09:03:58 AM »
Any tips on removing the rivets from a 70 Challenger grill.  I've been saving an old grill, the egg-crate section is nice, but the rest is trashed.

In order to save some space, I'd like to go ahead and remove the good part.

Go slow with a drill bit, that's what I did. You need to use a bit large enough to wear away at the ridge of the rivet.

Thx

Be sure to go back with aluminum rivets.  You can get a rivet gun from harbor freight.

You can also get a rivet gun at Sears or Home Depot.  :2thumbs:

Any body shop would (should) have a rivet gun handy.

I would think so anyway.

Where do you live?
