early 71 console automatic
« on: September 28, 2007 - 05:09:16 PM »
Even though I was told by some that the 71 model consoles had the 5 screw woodgrain and the 70 had 4 screw. Here is my 71 automatic console and as you can see, it is a 4 screw woodgrain console with an ashtray. This has to be a very early 71 I would imagine.  very small crack at the back but not flimsy, I got the hinge for my other console, and dug up a lock for this one. 3 of the mounting tabs are broken off for the 2 pice lid, but I have the tabs to be JB weld or plasic welded back on. The chrome on the woodgrain is good, but needs a new decal to be perfect.  Make me an offer

I'll go out and try to get a better of it for you. Till then, you see the 3rd pic down?  Look at the very bottom of the woodgrain trim and on the left. See that tiny line on the bottom corner. Thats it, where the wood grain fits. But I will post a new pic of that spot in a few minutes....dialup sucks. Took me over an hr to do this...ALAN

Here it is. I had photobucket online when I went and snapped the shot.

Ok, thats pretty minor.  I've got a friend that might want to do a trade for my console, but if that falls through, I'll let you know.   :2thumbs:
