I did my 2nd Dumba$$ thing in the last seven days... PIC!!!

  Leaving the show today I put a half inch long paint chip in NIKKI's left door. How I did it was the dumba$$ part... I keep a clip board in the car to hold down all the flyers you aquire at events. Left it on top the dash + little gas = paint chip on top the door. Took it down deep but fortunately did not dent it! I got a thought on how I'm gonna fill it in, but I know alot of you guys do paint work.Suggestions???  Thanks in advance.

I would suggest next time you use a red brick instead of a clipboard. 

Seriously, are you saying this scratch/chip is deeper than what a couple of coats of touch up paint can cover?

here's one, get the trim that goes on top of the door and cover it up

or

if you have to paint it, how deep is the scratch? can you see primer/filler/metal?

I was gonna get a pic tonite but got home from the shop to late. I skillfully (  ) dabbed it with primer after work yesterday so the bare metal wont start to rust. I'm thinkin' of dabbing in a bit of touch up paint and wet sanding after. Wont be perfect but tp paint the top of the door........ errrrrrr no.... not now any way. I'll try and get a pic on tomorrow nite .

Well its definetly too cold to paint in out the garage now. But they say maybe 60's on Sunday that would work!  It's just such a bad spot - right on top..
