I've been reading posts on this website for a while and got some useful information. Now it's time to jump in with a barracuda and a challenger!
The Barracuda...1974 318 that I bought in 1978 and drove until 1995. Did bodywork in 1983 (new fenders, and patchwork) and swapped engines in 1985 (a 1981 318) should have kept the original. A couple of years ago we decided it was going back on the road or it was going. It was a rust bucket. If we'd known how bad it really was we might have sold it but we decided to fix it. We replaced frame rails, floors, etc. It's 100% solid steel again. The engine is now a 1978 440. I can't wait to get it back on the road.
The Challenger...1973 360. Once we decided to put the Barracuda back on the road and it didn't happen overnite...still hasn't happened...we got the itch.
Right now the Challenger is a driver. It will need some basic work, there is some bubbling on the lower doors and lower fenders. We had it on the hoist and the frame rails and floors are solid, and the motor is strong. It's a 'driver' and we drive it. When the barracuda is done the challenger will be going in for some bodywork and paint.
That 3rd car...Torred Daytona Charger...gotta have a car to drive to work everyday. I love the muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70's. This is the closest thing i've seen. Color, stripes, spoilers, sound...it goes and handles! Driving it puts a smile on my face, but I still want the Barracuda.
