Well, it happened like this: A couple of years ago my buddy and I were driving around back roads looking for vehicles. We came across a house that had a nice 70 GTO in the driveway. Being a "car" house, we stopped to have a chat to see if the owner knew of anything similar in the area that might be acquirable. We weren't able to talk to the owner, but his son came out to talk to us. He had a Dart. He told us of a 73 Cuda down the road, but he knew the guy had been asked about it tons of times. Now, this was a completely different Cuda than the one here. (I have pictures of that one too if anyone is interested to see them) Of course we went to check it out and no it wasn't for sale. It was beside a fairly main road and the wife said they had about 10 people a week stop and ask about it. That would get old real quick to me. I would definitely put it out of sight.
Anyway, recently we were in the auto parts store where this kid works and we asked him about cars again of course. He told us of ANOTHER 73 cuda that was sitting beside a house, but he said he thought no one had offered the guy any real money for it. We weren't able to go see it right away, but my buddy drove up the next day and took pictures of it beside the house. We went up the following Saturday and talked to the owner's wife about it. She said that he might sell it and we got his number. Well, I called the guy Sunday after church, he gave me a number that I was happy with and told him I'd be up to get the car that afternoon. As it was being loaded up later, I heard him say "Yeah, a lot of people have stopped by asking about this car." I said "So no one would give you what you wanted for it?" "Oh no, they offered me what I wanted.....I just wasn't ready to sell it yet."
His poor wife has cancer God bless her and he said that he came to a point where he knew he'd never be able to get it back on the road again. I imagine they may have needed the money pretty badly for hospital bills too. I felt kind of bad cause he was almost crying seeing it go, but as you guys who move cars know, you have to put emotions aside in this business or you might never pick anything up.
