Needed - Six Way Seat Brackets w/Straps
« on: December 13, 2007 - 09:03:08 AM »
Was planning on getting from Harms, but I guess just because somethings in their catalogue doesn't mean that they actually sell this item.

Received e-mail from Scott stating that he stopped carrying them due to lack of demand.

First of all we don't have a "catalog", the only place we had ever them advertised them is our website.

As of last week we no longer sell them, sales last year trickled to nearly nothing (less than 5 sets) due to this it no longer made sense to order the minimum run from the stamping company we get them from. To compound this there have been other unrealated supplier issues.

So, bottom line? We sold them for 5 years but won't be carrying them any longer. I don't know where to send you to get them elsewhere, to my knowledge we were the only source. The website will be updated shortly to reflect this and any other changes.

Thank you for your business!

Scott

Wow - You mean that I missed out by one d**n week ??? When I seen the set of tracks on e-bay, I immediately double checked your site to make sure that they were still there and then snatched the tracks up with a Buy-It-Now. I wonder if I can have a set fabbed or rig up something else ???

Btw - Scott I am not blaming you here, totally my fault for making sure that you had them first. I have ordered from you before and will continue to. I have always been happy with the service received. Like maybe I will have to wait a couple months before I find a set. So the car will sit in the garage without the new seat tracks - The car will understand.

No problem, just wanted to set the record straight. To make you feel better I've been sold out of them since last April, they've been out of stock for quite a while. When I ordered more back in April all I got were delivery promises (flat out lies) for months on end,  recently I finally gave up trying to order them, that and the lack of demand during the intrim  made it and easy decision to stop handling them.

As far as getting some, I've seen them for sale second hand from past buyers who never used them, they are around. Also, the guy who was shipping them to me from Peru (Domingo Cicirello) may eventually buy more from the stamping company (who is also in Peru) and sell them (likely on ebay) but I don't have any more knowledge on that subject at this time. He may also start selling some other products we have carried in the past including torque boxes and shaker hood kits, we are no longer going to sell those items either, sales of those products have dropped to near nothing as well so no need to carry them any longer. So, just so you guys are aware, any future sales offerings your see of those items would be totally unrelated to Harms Inc. We are moving on to newer products and services.

Thanks!
Scott

Bullit, Thanks for the lead. Now I am undecided whether to get these or not. The dilemna (always something) is that this is half of what I need and everywhere that I have checked they are sold with the brackets and braces. These are only $25 so I should just play it safe and get these I will be a little bit closer.

The first picture is of what is needed and what Harms had at one time offered (better known as the good ole days). Hoover offers the second picture which was included from Harms.

It's a shame. If mine were not original to my car, I would sell them to you. With me being over 6' and the big 3 spoke wheel, my 6 way keeps me up to tall for me. My legs are close to the wheel. I really don't like it. If I installed a tough wheel it would be ok, but I am trying to keep it all original except for the original engine (318) was missing in action.

Is your car coded for the 6 way seats? I will keep my eyes open for you :2thumbs:

Thanks. Nothing is real original on mine and do have the tuff wheel on it. If you want you could lend me yours for say 99 years.
