Windshield washer pump motor
« on: November 24, 2007 - 06:40:23 PM »
I am in the middle of installing a new windshield washer motor.  Since it has been off the car for a while, I can not remember which lead goes to ground and which is the power from the harness.  Does it make a difference?

Appreciate it.

I am looking at a new one and there is a "+" on the terminal that is perpendicular to the metal can on the pump, so the terminal closest to the horns gets the hot lead and the the other gets the ground.

it should be marked + on one terminal , if you connect it backwards it will run backwards & push fluid back into the tank

I was just thinking about what you said, was to be applied to my fuel pump.  I would never run out of gas!!!  :roflsmiley:  :smilielol:   :grinno:
