Going to Barrett Jackson
« on: November 22, 2007 - 11:32:56 AM »
It looks like I'm going to Barrett Jackson in January.  :cooldancing: The two owners of the company I work for suggested that we have our annual "meeting" there.  I didn't ask twice and have a tentative itinerary.  January sucks in Alberta so this will be great.  It will be interesting to see where prices go this year.  I'm sure the big dogs will still be spending the $$$ but the rest, who knows.  I don't plan on buying anything but if I see a nice '63 330 or an original '70 340 4 speed Swinger I may have a moment of weakness.

I didn't see the costs to register as a bidder but I think it's around 500!  The prices for getting into the site aren't bad - probably cheaper than getting into Powerama. :hyper:
I went to Expedia and it was only $3200 for 3 of us for flights, hotel (3 rooms) and a car for 6 nights! (taxes extra).

Very cool to have a "meeting" there!  :grinyes:

A couple of my friends are going.  They go there and meet up with a friend with a '71 Challenger R/T and go play.  Lucky guys...  :walkaway:  One guy has no money (Like me!!!), the other has a '68 Charger and a 650hp Shelby Cobra replica and likes to be tempted to sell one of them...  :roflsmiley:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I went last year and I am looking forward to going this year.  It is abosolutely awesome for car lovers.  Truly some unique pieces of history will go across the auction block.

Have fun,

Vanished

My Mopar buddy has offered to take me along. But I dunno, I'm pretty travelled out this year. We'll see.
