Missed my shaker hood 3 times...So now I'm getting a kit
« on: November 25, 2007 - 05:35:03 PM »
Each time I tried to sell bigger things to buy my hood, I got took on the money, Then my children came up for the holidays and I gave them 200 each to go shopping on while they were here, and after that I filled their cars up for 146 bucks. So Now I have been selling little parts here and there and am almost to where I can pay cash for Scotts shaker kit. I called him turkey day and was going to cc it but thought cash would be better. I hate to cut up my original flat hood to my m46 car, but it is a flat hood and others can be gotten.  Now if I can sell my rally dash I posted,  :dunno: I can buy my new rear bumper and give these others to the clown :2thumbs:

I know I can afford to just buy the hood and bumper, but I like the feeling of being able to purchase the stuff by making money off my hobby parts. Anybody else do this too?  It teaches me patience which I have little of and makes me appreciate my car more this way.
I also no I am weak and when I drive up to Stephens performance tomorrow, I may get week knee'd and just buy the hood...decisions, decisions

Al,
I feel your pain and tend to be a very impulsive buyer. I guess it's an ADHD thing!!! :roflsmiley: My wife is still mad at me because I still have not sold the '68 Barracuda which I was gonna sell to pay for the Challenger. :swear:  Now I have both & am finding excuses NOT to sell the '68.  :1zhelp: I bought a race built big block on a whim but at $1,000 bucks who could go wrong. It has over 2K in the heads alone!! Just don't bring a hemi engine by my garage...I'll be sleeping there for a long time!!!  :smilielol: Good luck with the hood. Go for it!!! :2thumbs:

I know how you feel I'm about to inventory parts to sell to pay for parts on my car as well. My problem is I have been looking at your parts and trying to figure how to get extra money to buy yours....... It never ends! :pullinghair:

What's the deal on the rallye cluster? I am looking for a 70-71 set-up that I can get for the bosses car and turn into white face guages.

Alan my 70 Cuda was a 5 year project and that was the only way I could afford all the parts was selling stuff to buy the parts I needed. It worked out great as I was never in a rush and did not burn me out on the work I had going on in my garage.
