Registered my Challenger today.
« on: June 29, 2009 - 09:21:03 PM »
Well i jumped the gun and went down and registered my 73 challenger today. It is still a couple years out from finishing, but i was hearing some bad rumours hear in Washington state, that if your vehicle has not been registered in 5 or less years that it was going to cost you a heck of a lot more to register it, and possiblity that you would not be able to register it.  :22yikes:
I don't know if this is true or not, but i was not going to take any chances. Spend $53 now and rest easy for the next few years or  :puke: in 2 or 3 years. Anyone else hear of anything like this going down?

Haven't heard anything like that, I will for good measure register the 69 charger (in pieces) and Polara (running funny) just to be safe. Did you get a collector plate rather than the yearly tab? Since I don't drive my cars except on the weekends, I just have collector plates on them all.

I have been trying to decide what to do with my car and where to registar it.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I got a regular plate for now, it was quite a bit cheaper. I want to get a personalized plate in year or so, once i get a bit closer to a driver.

You people have got it easy, here in Australia we have to have the car finished in running condition, roadworthy etc and then present it for inspection before we can register it and usually costing around $700 - $800.00 plus transfers.
I know that my Challenger had an antique plate on it from Kansas and the guy I bought it from left it on so I could drive it to California for shipping.   :2thumbs:
