tire size
« on: August 12, 2003 - 11:15:02 PM »
I have a 73 Challenger
I won a set of 15x7 and 15x8 American Racing Rims, without moving the springs in can I fit  275 60R15's on the back stock, and 235 60R15 fit up front ?

is this a good size or is a 50 or 70 series better for my application.

has anyone used BFG comp ta drag radials?
are they worth the money?

1973Challenger360:

Try this link to a thread that was posted here a few months ago.  The second-to-last post by "GranCoupe" gives the thumbs-up on the BFGoodrich Drag Radials.  Some other people posted their findings about other street tires they were running.  Here's the link - check it out:

Good luck,

I have 245/60/15's all around, so that front will fit, but i don't know about the back.

If you have at least 3.5" backspacing on the 8" rims they will clear okay with BFG 275-60-15's.

I know with 15X7 rims, you can put 60 series 255's on the back. I don't know what would work on the front.

Thanks Mike......Maybe P235/60/15's for the front.....Anybody have a "good fit" they would like to share? I would like to fill the wheel wells with no mods to the car. And not have any rubbing!...Thanks

I also have a 73 Challenger that I didn't want any tire problems with so I went with Goodyear Eagle GT II 235/60/15's on all four corners on Mopar rallye's, (15x7's) and have no problems. I have seen 245/60/15's on a few Challengers but didn't want to take the chance. Hope this helps... :)

Thanks, Nice looking ride! I was interested to see how wide they looked from the rear of the car. If you have any pics?? I would love to see. Thanks.

I have one somewhere just need to find it, If not I'll take another and post somtime Sat...If it dosen't rain. Also I am commenting on the bigger tires on the front as my tires are VERY close to the front fenders on turns. I wasn't worried with the max width on the rear I just wanted the same tire/wheel combo all around.. :D
