Yes he did, but may not have come back till after the cc.com server meltdown, which would make him not able to see the answers.

Exactly. I thought I was losing my mind or something. 

I'd seen a couple of 72-74 cars without the script and was just wondering if it was something available only on certain models.

Are you sure on that one?

My first car was a 1972 Challenger that had all it's original sheet metal, and it did not have the emblems on the quarters.
I know for certain the quarters were not changed, or were any holes welded in

On my '73 they are stick on & are about 6-10" from the tail.
