In `82 I took out a loan for $2500 from the credit union to buy a project car.At the time I was not diehard Mopar so was looking for a Mustang Mach1,`cuda,road runner,Chevelle or any decent muscle car.Of all the cars I looked at it came down to the `72 Barracuda-340 727,running driving with a trashed interior and needing some rust work for or a `70 Challenger R/T-Lime green, black vinyl, black houndstooth interior,383 4 spd.It was a more solid, better interior but needed an engine rebiuld as it smoked real bad.It was a tough decision but I wnated something to drive for a while before I tore into it for the resto so I bought the Barracuda.Price for the Challenger-$1500,the Barracuda $1000.the guy selling the Challenger had a few more cars for sale also-a `70 Hemicuda for $10k and a 440-6 for $7 or 8 plus a couple more-too bad I couldn`t have afforded one of those!   :banghead:

Yes it is in some ways.  Others it brings back good memories.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

In 1987 a friend of mine tried to trade me his all factory AAR cuda for my freshly painted and restored 69" Chevy Nova.  I had a whopping $1700 in the Nova total.

Only reason I didn't was his car was a golden/bronze color and I thought it was ugly and didn't have the money to paint another car so I told him no thank you.

Let's see super nice 69 nova these days $10,000
Super nice factory AAR Cuda $100,000

Yeah, I'm the idiot...

I graduated in '86 from highschool.  There was only 1 e-body around, my friends '70 or '72 Cuda, can't remember the year.  It was weird.  I didn't think much of his car as his was the "odd man out" as far as all the muscle cars went in a sea of GMs and Fords.  My stupidity in my youth...  :dunno:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Passed on a 71 Cuda 440-6 column auto for 3K in the early 90's. Passed on a 70 hemicuda ragtop for 6K in the late 70's (might as well been 60K for me back then) red/red auto car.

Sold the cars below...green 70 challenger is a 440-6 4 speed 4.10 dana car, blue 70 cuda is a 440-6 4 speed 3.54 dana, red 71 cuda was a 440-6 4 speed converted to a 472 hemi 4 speed, black 70 cuda was a 383 4 speed converted to a 426 5 speed. In-violet cuda was a 440-4 4 speed. the burnt orange 70 challenger was a 440-4 auto. Plenty others too, these are the E's that stick out

Dont have any computer pics of the AAR 4 speed red/red car i owned, that was a good one also.  Almost forgot this 71 Cuda, 383 4 speed

Just wish I had a picture of all of the cars I had.  Wish the digital camera was around then but I did not even have a camera at the time.  I would be able to fill up so many pages of pictures it would be hard to beleive.  I will have to think of all the cars I had that i sold to get through school.  Just wish I had several of them back.
