Cowboy,

I will measure mine when I get home.  I have a Q-Cab short bed, 1998.

I believe it is 139" as it fits into my garage....barely and mygarage is 16 feet deep..

Cowboy, I measured mine today, 1998 1500 Quad cab, two door,  it was 134"

I think the difference are in the rear door option.  if you look at the first truck the rear doors don't open.  And on the second truck its rear doors open.  And then you have the true four doors.

These wheel bases are from my Dodge book, unfortunately they don't tell you which ones are short beds.

1994 - 2001 wheel bases

118.7 in. (1500)
134.7 in. (1500)
138.7 in. (1500)
154.7 in. (1500)
134.7 in. (2500)
138.7 in. (2500)
154.7 in. (2500)
134.7 in. (3500)
154.7 in. (3500)

2002 - 2008 wheel bases

120.5 in. (1500)
140.5 in. (1500/2500/3500)
160.5 in. (1500/2500/3500)
160.3 in. (3500/1500/2500)

154.7 in. (1500) Q-cab L-B

134.7 in. (2500) reg L-B

My 1998 1500, Q-Cab was the first year for four doors (suicide doors).....I think.  That is why I didn't get them on mine, as I wasn't sure how well they would seal.  As for the true four door Dodges, I have seen them in the 80s series trucks.

Vertman is correct that 1998 was the first year for the quad cab (suicide doors).  However you can find early model year 1998s that don't have the doors (at least in 2500s) as they were in the process of switching over.

I have an 02 2500 (last year of old body style) and I like the suicide doors.  I think it would be tough to get in the back seat if you didn't have the doors.

It amazed me when they went to the "quad cab" in '98 with virtually no change to the look of the truck cab, except the door crack that hardly shows. :2thumbs:
