Repop rear valance fittment?

I had a serious fitment problem with mine too.  Definitely due to the old repro quarter skins, though (installed by someone before me).  I bought my car without a rear valence.  Now I know why...

I have never replaced quarters before but wouldn't that be a crucial part of mock-up? to put the valance in there temporarily at least to make sure the fit is right?

Some measurements should be made before you take anything off.  And yes you should put things up to make sure you have them right before completely wielding them for good.  The trunk is most likely wrong also on that car and the lower part of the trunk. After spending as many years in the body work side of vehicles I have seen most everything.  That is why I said it was the quarter and not the rear valance.

You know, I bought 2 rear pans, one for cuda and one for challenger. The cuda fit very well and has factory quarters , the challenger has factory quarters too and I took the original valance off to put a dual exhaust repop on the back. I had trouble with the same drivers side as you did and it done the same thing. I am thinking it may have been an off brand bad run we got ahold of and they passed it on to the customer.

Now that I think of it, one side did match up better than the other.  But then again, the quarters aren't factory.  I eventually need to replace the quarters again (with new Goodmark pcs), so I'll find out then.  I hope the new quarters are better than the fenders...  I can't believe they missed that lower body line.

With the pics that we have it really looks like the quarter that is off.  The Valance may be off some too but the quarter goes in too much.  That is why I was talking about factory replacements.

I used a Cuda repo rear panel on a 70 cuda i restored a few years back. That car had the original quarters on the car. I remember i had to tweak the valance to make it fit correctly, but it was not all that far off to begin with. I also used a repo front valance, and that one fit nicely with no tweaking needed.

I compared my OEM today to the repro. It appered that the repro was just a hair longer by about an 1/8" to a 1/4" on the top edges most notably on each side. But of course that wouldn't make the Challenger in the picture be like that. Notched out areas that run along the top were bigger on the repro.
