I have a 50 lb bag of Camaro silver powder coat. I can send you some if you're interested. You would just need to pay for the shipping. I think it was a 3M product. Research the color tone and if you're still interested get back with me.

That's a nice offer but there are better colors out there.  I have the Camaro silver on many undercarriage components and although it's too bright for that (I'll use something else next time) it's probably not bright enough for the rims.

The powder coater I used for my rims did a really good job and also topped it off with a clear powder and that should accomplish what you are looking for.  I think there is an argent out there specifically for this now and the guy below might be able to let you know or if you are in the Iowa / Illinois area look him up.

Included are pictures with 70 & 71 centers.

I have the speciality wheels powder coated 15" rims too and that color is just wrong and I wish they would do it right but this color looks great and everyone that has seen it really likes it.

I forgot to add, with whatever color you go with, that edge where the rim and the center section goes together should get some special attention or it could rust on you.  After coating, I recommend laying the rim flat and pouring some clear (liquid) in there to keep it from rusting since it's hard for the powder to get that deep in the rim.

With the trim rings on you won't see this area but rusty water could come out otherwise.

Good luck with your project.

I don't know that I would want to powder coat wheels, if you do any serious or extended amounts of driving anyway. The potential for heat build up and the resulting bond separation could lead to some pretty ugly looking results.

My point of reference was some misc brackets my Bro powder coated and put on his Jeep. Well, a couple of those were in close proximity to the exhaust system and over time, the powder separated from the base material and peeled up. Looked interesting to see powder peel and since they were just brackets, we replaced them. Don't know how that would hold up on a wheels where braking heat could be a factor. It is likely the wheels would have heat for the sustained duration that an exhaust produces, but heavy brakes use can produces temps that exceed the exhaust.

I'm about to send my intake manifold out for powder coating. They do have coating that is good for 400*F, I'm not sure what is being used here though.

I considered doing this too but unless you do the whole motor you will probably end up with a color difference.

You might consider blocking off the heat riser and paint the motor as a whole.

They do have high-heat powder (in some colors) and that is what I have have on my exhaust manifolds and with proper prep (make sure you get all the rust off) it holds up great.
