Aftermarket door handles?
« on: January 02, 2008 - 09:16:19 PM »
I thought the 70 Door handles were different that the other years.  However repop door handles say they fit 70-74' what gives?   are they worth the price??  YO is $230 a set.

Funny you mention this because I just heard a story on the repop door handles from my body guy today.  He said that all of the repops are advertised basically as 70-74 E body (one size fits all).  He said that they are all modeled after the Cuda handles, where they are rounded slightly out top to bottom to follow the body line of the Cuda, whereas the Challengers should be rounded slightly in top to bottom.  He said that's why NOS or used Challenger handles sell for so much on Ebay, because they are not reproduced

I got some on mine.  You can find them for less.  85 each from some vendors.

Tom

The only pic I got.  They fit good.

I agree with 73 Chall , the curve is different for both cars & only 1 is reproduced . Other than that 70-74 were the same

Call your Dodge dealer. I'm pretty sure you can get E-body door handles thru Mopar Performance.

Those look nice.  Do you know if they were repops or original that were refinished?  I checked their website and Ebay store but did not see any listed.  Thanks.

those are curved for a barracuda, just like the ones i bought. i havent found challenger ones. i got mine from penstar reproductions, I HATE THOSE GUYS!!!! the driver side wont even let the lock engage. i took mine off and threw it across the parking lot, literally. i was so mad that i even took it back afterwards, haha. my more bitter days.....

:stomp: ive calmed down since then.

The Challenger ones are now being reproduced, the set I bought looks and fits as good as the originals. I tried a set of the Mopar ones first and like has been said they were fore a Cuda and fit poorly.

No those are actually curved inwards for the Challenger.
