How much does a 440 block w/heads weigh?
« on: January 04, 2008 - 04:54:46 PM »
Topic says it all - I've got a cart and I'm wondering if I can red-wagon a 440 on it for a few yards...

Let's pretend this is "The Price is Right".  My guess is 600 pounds.

   Higher, or lower??   :dunno:

Well, Bob (...I guess it is Drew now), I will bet $1, because I think they've gone over.

Since the question was '440 block w/heads', not a complete engine, I would guess maybe 400-425 max.  I think the block is around 250, and the heads could be another 100-125, plus whatever else is still in it.
