Do you have any numbers or stampings from the tranny?  Does it come with all shift rods?  Where around Chicago are you located?  Friend of mine is heading your way.  Offer in PM.

With all due respect to you and as a :newbie: as of yesterday, welcome to the site. :2thumbs:

I do however have a comment and a couple of questions to ask.

Bill, we are a tight knit family here.

My two questions are these:

An 833 out of an original "383" 72 Challenger without offering the numbers as requested, seams like a bit of a stretch?

Dropping the price from $600 to $400, so quickly within the 48 hours of your posting, is also puzzling.

Could you please elaborate?

Thank you very much,

Slotts

I have tried to get numbers from another board, abodiesonly.com.  Listed there for a few days.  I sent offer of lower than that.  Maybe I am just being a hard ass and he doesn't want the thing any more.  Pics would be nice but he says he doesn't have  a camera  to take pics with.  Everybody at abodies got all mad because he didn't introduce himself.

No ebody cars received big blocks after 71.  There are a few select cars that got big blocks after 71 but they are but a hand full.  You can still install a big block yourself into a later model it just didn't come factory like that.

That is why the numbers are needed to see what year the trans actually is as there are differences.

Now do you understand?  I think the guys were attempting to give you the benefit of the doubt without being insulting and educate you on these cars  in a very nice way.
