Anyone use Hylomar sealant?

I've been reading ads for Hylomar, Permatex as well as Hylomar themselves sell it. it seems like the perfect sealant for just about everything, that makes me wonder if it's snake oil. anyone ever use it and what did you think?

I think it's funny that almost any gasket you buy nowadays says to install dry without any sealant, yet their are about a million different types of sealants out there. Of course there are sealants out there designed to be run alone, a true "form a gasket" type, but those are mostly late model cars with machined surfaces designed to only use RTV as a gasket. I have used Hylomar as gasket dressing on timing covers, water pump, and thermostat housings and such. Don't really think it is wonderful or a miracle worker, just another sealant that works as intended.

I have used it , it stays soft & tacky , not sure why I do not use ti more but I rarely use ti

I havent used Hylomar too much, but it worked okay for me the few times I have.  I prefer Permatex Right Stuff, or their Ultra Gray as a close second  if I am feeling cheap.  The Right Stuff can replace most gaskets, and it seals incredible.  I have yet to see a seal made with that stuff even so much as sweat oil, let alone leak.  And this is on customer cars that have racked up over 100K since the repair.  I also prefer the Ultra Gray because it is much thicker and tacky than the other RTV's.  It isnt even nearly as runny as they are which is a definite plus if you are applying it overhead when under a car.

  I have used it for years on cork and paper gaskets, stays tacky, holds gasket in place, doesn't allow oils, water to weep through.
  Had a few problems with rocker covers and auto trans gaskets weeping ( make sure none goes into auto pan ), none since, been using for more than 15years.   
  I believe that some of the better cork gaskets are treated with Hylomer, at least here in Australia.
