67 383 performance tuned Mopar motor
« on: January 13, 2008 - 01:26:01 PM »
If you want the contact info for this motor let me know asap:

Quoted:
1967 383 big block. The engine was pulled 2 weeks ago and ran great. Had alot of horsepower. I pulled it because I am putting in a 440 six pack so I no longer need this engine. In 2007 I put a new Edlebrock RPM performer cam and lifter set in it. New push rods, rocker arms, rocker shaft and a new double roller timing chain. The distributor is 2 years old and is an electronic distributor. I had to get a different one for my 440 so it goes as well. I am including the original 2 barrel intake manifold and carb. This is not the one I was just using. I did have it on the car 3 years ago but I am sure the carb will need to be rebuilt. I am also including the water pump, and pulley and the crank pulley. You are not getting the water pump housing, just the pump. It is 2 seperate units and I need the housing. The Oil pan is a little rough and probably should be replaced. I am including a new chrome timing chain cover along with the original cover.

Also included:  Edlebrock intake with a holley 600 carb.

Other notes: I changed the accelator pump and the jets and it ran great. You will get almost a complete engine ready to go that needs no rebuild. I had the heads off when I put the cam in last year and the cylinders looked great. I used an inside mic and checked them for roundness and compaired size and they were all equal. I can't remember if they were 3.252 or 4.252 inches across but I do remember the .252 number and it was the same on all of them.

Price $850 crated!

If it is what he says it is. But buying it and not hearing it run you never know. No bids, maybe you can get it for 699 :2thumbs:.   Wonder what heads is on it. It says it is a standard bore.  Did he use steel shim head gaskets again? Or lower the compression with thicker ones, cause if it has 906 heads and felpro blues, the comp, will be way down.

I was serious about this motor but realize converting my small block barracuda will just be more time, money and headache then I need. I am going with a 340 or 360.

This motor is up for grabs!
Seems like a nice guy.
