1972 Plymouth Road Runner/GTX

This is a Rare 1 of 672 1972 Plymouth Road Runner/GTX.

This is my personal car and I am the third owner. I don’t drive the car anymore and hate to see it just sit. This car is perfect as a VERY NICE Daily Driver/Local Cruise-in/Car Show car, not a trailer queen, but wouldn’t take much to make it one.

Car has its Original Fender Tag/VIN/Door Sticker. The Radiator Support, VIN Tag, Fender Tag, and Door Sticker all match. This car has all of its original body Panels and shows no signs of ever having any damage or body work. Car has factory rear Torque Boxes & K-Frame w/Skid Plate. Car has Excellent Straight Body, Excellent Restored Grill/Bumpers/Interior. There is absolutely no rust on the underneath of this car, floor pans/frame are perfect, no rust/scale/pitting whatsoever!!!!!!

Fender Tag Codes:
END
N23 N41 N42 R11 V8X
G36 J25 J45 L31 M21 M31
FE5 U B41 B51 C16 C56
FE5 D6X9 TX9 119 314318
E86 D34 RM23 U2G 159XXX

Body:
The body on this car is amazing. It has only a few small bubbles under the paint that were there when I bought the car 3 years ago and I haven’t touched them. I was planning on completely restoring the car back to factory specs, so I haven’t touched the body and haven’t need to since it looks so nice. All of the body panels are excellent, floor pans are original and are factory fresh looking, trunk pan is original and in awesome condition, there is no rust at all in the edge seams of the doors/trunk lid/hood, Frame Rails are Clean (No Rust/Scale/Pitting). Car was not optioned from the factory with an Air Grabber hood, but has one on it currently. I personally think these cars look best with the Air Grabber hood so I didn’t change it back to the regular stock Road Runner Hood. Car currently has a First Place Auto Quality Gull-Wing mounted on it.

The car currently has Weld Aluminum Rims with Excellent Condition Dunlap Front Tires and the rear tires are New Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Radials.

Interior:
The Interior of the car is in Good Condition. Seats are nice, Carpet is New, Door Sill Plates are New, Console is in like new Condition w/new Wood Grain Decal, Headliner is Awesome, Shifter is a Gun Slinger Pistol Grip Ratchet Shifter, and Door Panels are in Very Nice Condition.

Extra parts included with car:
Perfect Gauge Bezel (Current one in car was cut for in-dash CD Player)
Original AM Radio
Original T-Shifter Handle
Nice set of Kick Panels (Current ones have speakers mounted in them)

The motor is the original #’s matching 440 that it left the factory with. The entire drive train, engine/trans/rear end, has been rebuilt.

The #’s matching 440 Engine was completely rebuilt:
Original Steel Crank, Manley I-Beam Steel Rods, Speed Pro 10:1 Pistons, Chrome Molly Rings, Clevite 77 Bearings, Melling High Volume Oil Pump, Milodon 7 Quart Baffled Oil Pan, Double Roller Timing Chain, Mopar Purple Cam .557 Lift .297 Duration, Cam is Degreed to Mopar Specs, Solid Lifters, Manley Titanium Push Rods, Crane Gold Roller Rockers, Edelbrock Ported & Polished RPM Aluminum Heads, Manley Titanium Valves, Edelbrock Victor 440 Intake, 850 Demon Carb, K&N Air Filter, Mopar Performance Aluminum Water Pump Housing, CSR Electric Water Pump, MSD Pro Billet Distributor, MSD 6AL Ignition Box, MSD Rev Limiter, Holley Electric Fuel Pump & Regulator, 3” Exhaust w/H-Pipe, Flowmaster Mufflers

The original Heads, Water Pump Housing & Water Pump, and Fan will come with the car if you want to take it back to stock.

Entire rotating assembly was balanced and blueprinted.

727 Trans was completely rebuilt:
Rebuilt with Mopar Performance Parts, Cheetah Manual Forward Valve Body, TCI 3500 Stall Converter

An original Valve Body will come with the car if you want to take it back to original shift pattern.

8 ¾ Rear End was completely rebuilt:
New Bearings throughout, Chunk was Completely rebuilt with new clutches and Ring & Pinion, Pinion Snubber, 4:30 Gears, Mopar Super Stock Leaf Springs, New Drive shaft with the big Spicer Joints

This car looks & runs awesome! You can also tell by looking at the car that it has been taken care of during its life and not abused. I hate to sell it but my priorities have changed at this point in my life and it has to go. You will have a hard time finding a 1972 Plymouth Road Runner/GTX in the same condition for the price that I am asking. Car is perfect as-is or would be an extremely easy restoration if you wanted to take it back to factory specs.
