8 3/4 ring gear swap how to!
« on: January 29, 2008 - 12:11:33 PM »
Here is an article from an old Mopar Muscle magazine on swapping gears in an 8 3/4. It is a 742 but it is basically the same for a 489 except the pinion gear set up. It should let some people get a better idea of what is involved in swapping gears. (They are using a spool instead of a differential)

Very good article on the 8 3/4.  Good reference to have around the next time I rebuild one.  Thanks for posting.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development
