Carlisle Decision
« on: February 08, 2004 - 03:22:50 PM »
Option A:  Have our CCC tent in the midst of the e-body rows of judged cars.  Only the cars that are supposed to be in that specific row will be allowed to park around the tent.  All others will have to park in their respective rows depending on year, model, etc.

Option B.  Have our CCC tent away from the e-body section.  All member's mopars will be allowed to park around our tent, however, these cars will not be judge and we do not know as of yet where it will be located.

Both options have positives and negatives.  We just need to make a choice so we can move on.  Please only vote if you are planning to attend.

This will probably best serve the purpose of all of us getting together ( B), and besides if some club member does wish to have his car parked in the proper judging location for his year and model he certainly has the option of doing so, then joining the others around the club tent, - correct?

OK, I agree WSM.
I'm not one to have my car judged, but someone here might. Besides, we can all cheer whoever is having their car judged on. I hope it all works out.

For reasons already said, I believe that option b is the better option. However, do not weigh my opinion too heavily as my Carlisle status is once again in question.

If option B will let those who want to park their E-Bods in the correct row and the rest of us somewhere else ( all together ).  That sounds like a good deal.

Sent to 'Carlisle lady' today -- will advise upon her response-

"Lisa - Thanks for your help! Our club (Cuda-challenger.com) started as online forum for Early 'A body' Plymouth barracudas and 70-74 'E body' mopars (Cudas and Challengers) The forum has progressed to more of a club in the past few years, and our members are planning caravans to carlisle this year from all directions N,S,E &W!
We are confident that our club will produce more than the no-fee minimum of 25 cars (but if not we of course will pay the fee :) ) The only topic still of concern is the location of our tent. It is the general sentiment of the group that we would like to have our tent setup somewhere where we could all park around it (seeing as we are a national club, it is not too often that we gather all of our cars into one location). We want to be sure, however, that if we elect this option that we will not be placed too far on the outskirts of the fairgrouds. Could you please shed some more light on where approximately we would be located if we should choose this option? Do you perhaps have a map in email form that we could see the location on?
I believe the general sentiment is that if we would have to be too far away from everything we would opt for a tent in the 'E body' area and everyone would park in their respective rows. (This is our second choice though)
Thanks again for your help, I look forward to hearing from you!
Justin"

jterp,
That's a great E-mail you sent. Probably at this point in time, they won't be able to give us an answer as to where we will be situated. That show grows bigger every year. I'm sure it will depend on the number of entries they get in the "judging" areas. Then they will put us outside it somewhere. I'm hoping for the best ;)

So we have to have 25 people registered by June 10, 2004 or we have to send in 145 bucks to reserve our tent.  Do we know how many people we have registered at this point??  I would think we'll have enough to get the money back but it would be nice not to have to worry about it at all!

I got my conformation yesterday from the fairgrounds.

Thats ONE for cuda-challenger.com !!  ;D

If we dont get enough cars, which I think we will, I would be willing to chip in on the cost just to have a central place to meet.   Ovmf
