dash caps

anyone use one of those dash caps? how do they look

I put two of them on. You cut out the high spots on the old one, and glue it on with some silicone adhesive provided. They are thin and show everything. The second one looked good for 110.00. Be careful stretching it over the old dash on the glove box side, I split one of them.  I used lots of newspapers wadded up to press it against the windshield. Preparation beforehand is the key to getting it looking good. good luck!

My car had one when I bought it. They do look good, but show every wave, so be careful putting it on. I got rid of mine because I didn't like the hard plastic feel.

I got one, preparing to install it.  There is a good article on Mopar Mucscle for installation.  You cut off the high sports sand and fill in the low spots and cracks very similar to body work.  Nicely prepared you gue on the cap.  They gave it high marks.  The key seems to be in the preparation, if you don't rush it will look good.

Here's one on the 72 RR clone I am building.  Like others have said, make sure you cut, grind or sand down the high spots on the old pad.  For the money, they are hard to beat.

For the money...you can't beat it. I just popped it right on.Seeing the difference between the cap and the factory pad,I can't do it. I'll leave it on there for now,later get a pad Let somebody else use the cap then. It's just the pad is sooo much nicer.But WAY spendy.   It's worth it to have a nice dash.You see alot of it!

I think Anyone in their right mind would prefer the Pad over the Cap.  But  spending the 400-500 dollars  more is a big jump.
