Power brake booster R&R
« on: January 30, 2008 - 05:00:47 PM »
Do you have do remove the master cylinder from the car or is there enough flex in the lines to let you get the booster out with the master cylinder in place? I'm thinking about rebuilding my booster but not if I have to hassle with brake fluid inside my detailed engine bay, its working fine as it is.

It would be very tight, but there might be just enough flex. The problem is the length of the push rod to the pedal from the booster.

I'd bank on you having to pull the m/c out. I'd say its a hellva lot easier to do that than to kink a line.

....why not just crack all the bleeders open and let the brake fluid gravity flow out. Have a heck of a lot less brake fluid around the engine bay

no prob , as long as you have coiled lines they will move enough to get the booster out without removing the master
