Fun little story from this weekend...
« on: January 28, 2008 - 03:08:45 PM »
Hey all,

I wanted to just share a funny story from this weekend and the big car trip that I took in my 'Cuda.

I am constantly amazed at the attention I receive driving around in my 'Cuda.  Obviously they're not seen often anywhere, but in the small towns in and around central PA, they're definitely quite rare.

I stopped at a small town of Liberty to get gas.  In fact I never saw a town, just a gas station.  I tanked up and started cruising 414 West towards Morristown.

On the way there I came across a small convoy of vehicles stuck behind a large box truck.  There was a red SUV, a tan, late model Suburban, and a mid-model blue Cavalier.

The Red SUV passed the truck soon, and was never seen again.  I continued following behind the Cavalier, maintaining a sufficient braking distance for a big, heavy Mopar...  I did notice at one point that the passenger of the Cavalier turned around and was looking back at my car.  I didn't suspect anything until she didn't turn around for more than a solid minute.  "Hmm, she likes my car," I thought to myself.

Well a clearing came and the Suburban went to pass.  The Cav' made no move, so I jumped around, dropped to second, and dropped the hammer.  As she slowly climbed to passing speed, I quietly mumbled to myself, "can't wait for that 512 stroker..."

Anyways, I passed the truck, and the Cav, and figured I'd never see them again.  Well a few minutes later it caught up.  I realized then that both driver and passenger were college-aged young women.  The driver wore a pair of oversized sunglasses, so few of her features beyond blonde hair could be seen.  The passenger however wore a gray, loose fitting t-shirt and no glasses.  She was, in a word, cute.

We got into Morristown and stopped at a red light.  As the Cavalier approached to its stop, I looked in my rear view to see the passenger leaning up in her seat and looking out to scan the back of my car.  "Man, she DOES like my car!"

We pulled through the green and got up a bit to the next red light.  We were both turning left, so I got into the lane, popped it into neutral, and gave it a few quick blips of the throttle.  It might be a 318, but it sounds good.

I glance into my rearview mirror after the last rev, just in time to see the passenger tweak her upper body with this wicked grin look on her face.  She was "revving" with me.  It was probably one of the hottest things I've ever seen.

Unfortunately within the last 18 miles of my trip into Coudersport the girls turned off onto a sideroad.  I was too far ahead to even wave.  I flashed the brake lights a few times and drove on.  I would've liked to shake her hand.  :)

A girl who loves muscle is an okay girl by me.  :)

I remember driving in my Last E-Body Challenger and it got looks all the time.  It was so cool to have everyone wanting my car.  They always asked what was in it and it did sound really good.  It was a 340 and it was really nice tripple black.  I can hardly wait to get another one on the road.  I know it will be so cool to just ride around in it.  Have fun the next time also.  Seemed to me that everyone always wanted to trade me out of mine then.  No real good stories about girls that I can remember at this time but I can remember a lot of them looking at the car and not me for sure.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development
