Machine shop help in San Diego
« on: February 06, 2008 - 11:14:19 PM »
Hey all,

Is anybody on this board from the San Diego area?  If so, I'm going to be rebuilding my 440 in the not-too-distant future and I need to find a good Mopar machine shop.  I know that Ed Hale Machine has done some good engine work in the past, but with Ed's passing a few years back, I don't know if his son is still running the place and does the same quality work.  I hate to take it to just anyone and cross my fingers and hope for the best.  I can make a bunch of phone calls and ask for references and if they have torque plates for RB engines, but if I can get info from someone else's experience, that would be helpful.

Also, if anyone knows of a San Diego shop with a flow bench where I can get my heads tested, that would be helpful as well.  I have the old Stage IV iron heads that the previous owner did some port work on.  They've been rebuilt, but I don't know what the flow is like.  That info, obviously, would go a long ways to help me to pick out a good cam.

Thanks!

Greg
