Here's my  :2cents: .

On my '72 Challenger Rallye, the steel wheels I believe were standard items (You have to have wheels that come with the car, right?  :roflsmiley: ) and I assume that even the hubcaps were an optional item as it was written down on my order form as an option.

Rally wheels and Magnum 500s and hubcaps were options according to my '72 Facts Manual.  There were 14" and 15 Rallies, only 14" Magnums, all of which had trim rings.

15" chrome magnums as MJS73 mentioned are after market, however pre-1970 Mopar did have chrome 14" Magnum 500s.  A lot of B-bodies had them.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I believe there was a hubcap that was standard and there was a deluxe hubcap and maybe a wire wheel hubcap that were optional.  Wheels as per Super Blue's description.

As a person who bought (and ordered) a 71 Cuda in Nov of 1970, I can say for certain that steel wheels came standard. Ralley and Magnums were extra cost options

It depends on the car model and year.

For most, the standard wheels were steel and came with hub caps or wheel covers.

Here is the info for 1970 Challenger models as an example;

I guess some of you missed Barry's post.  Dog dish's were standard and everything else was an option.  Some options were required when a package was ordered.  For instance it seems that when the 340 R/T package was ordered for the 1971 Challenger the 15X7 rallyes were a mandatory option; supposedly to keep rpm's down for warranty purposes.  My 70 R/T 383 auto car came with the Challenger script wheel covers and white walls. Rallyes were not part of the 70 R/T package. I don't have knowledge of how Cuda's were done. I am sure Barry knows of many other instances.

I know they were because I worked a Chrysler Plymouth dealer at that time.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Just to clear one detail up....

The (small) dog dishes are "hub" caps.

Wheel covers are larger, they cover most of the wheel, thus the name.

Wheel covers were an option.
