If all they eat is bugs and worms what can they hurt in the yard?

I can tell you've never had moles in your yards.  The little buggers tunnel all over the place.  Turns the whole yard into a mine field of ankle breaking soft spots.

...they dig tunnels all over your yard, during the process they kill your grass.....the tunnels can sink in making your yard lumpy ....if they aren't controlled, they can tunnel near/under the foundation of your home causing weak spots/water damage in extreme circumstances

...many years ago, we looked at a home for sale and I could barely stand up in the back yard, like I was drunk.....kept walking over these Mole tunnels and the earth would give away....a section of the brick wall on the back of the home was pulling away due to the weakened foundation from extensive Mole tunnels

...many times treating your yard for Grubs will get rid of the Moles, Moles like to eat Grubs and when their food supply is gone, they soon leave too....usually if you watch closely, you can see them working under the surface of your yard because the turf moves up and down from their diging activity....a well aimed shovel head will stop the digging activities of that particular Mole, permanently

They are a nuisance for sure.  I am having an issue right now, as are my parents at their place.  Moles are also pretty smart - hard to catch.  I may take advice from that site's Resources page and purchase one of those traps.

I hope you never get them. I never had a problem with them until I moved down south. I have been fighting with them for 2 years now. I was afraid to let my dog run because I was afraid he break a leg. I tried all the old wives tales. Nothing worked until I found the moleman site and he put me on to traps. They are the only way to get rid of them. Last year alone I killed 7 of the little devils. I have been clean for about 3 months now but I saw some signs in the yard this week. It is started to warm up and the grass is getting green so I guess it will be another busy year.

We have had them and now have them again in the yard.  I had one good dog that could hear them and catch them but he had to display what he got and then I had to get rid of them.  He was good and he would listen to them moving in the ground and then dig one little hole and get them.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Moles sound like a real problem. I am not sure we have any out here in the northwest. Never heard anyone complain about them. My wife and i rented a home many years ago, out in the country. We had badger problems then. We had one dig a new den in the front yard one weekend we were gone. When i got back i stuck the garden hose down the entrance and turned it on. It didn't take to long before he came up looking for air, and a well placed 22 bullet took care of him. I shoved him back down the hole and filled in the top and threw a little grass seed on top.
