?? on new Cuda sheetmetal
« on: February 16, 2008 - 05:46:00 PM »
I'm looking for guys who have gotten the new Cuda fenders in the northeast. I'm looking primarilly for a referal for a decent vendor for a complete grille and new fenders. I've found a few online out west, but shipping's rather high. Anyone used Auto Body Specialties? Or anyone else? Any direction is appreciated...

Are the fenders even out yet?If they are I will talk to Roger(auto body specialties)because I will be driving there with both of my 71 gilled fenders(need serious work)and do a comparison, and if I like what I see I will be purchasing them.By the way do you still have the black 71 air cleaner?I hope to atleast see you this coming summer,is your driveway project done?Sorry for straying on your thread buddy.

Hiya Clown, been a while for me here. Driveway is done, and I've seperated from my wife, so she has a nice driveway I'm paying for. I still have the air cleaner. I'm trying to get my '70 out on the road this summer. Hence the fenders. I think they have shipped some, I'm not sure. I've been avoiding the internet for a while. I hear factory fenders are a little thicker thru-out, but I need steel fenders to drive the car. I dont care if they are perfect. The rest of the car isnt perfect...

 :woohoo:
Are we finally seeing the Cuda fenders?
Man I hope these things fit nice.
The fenders that were available for some of my other cars were horrible, and in some cases worse than starting with rusted factory ones.

I would be more than happy to send some beer (or beer money) to the fellow who gets them first and reports on the fit!!!

Thanks Clown. I'm only a few minutes from the farm. I still pay for it, and I still amintain it (snow plowing, etc). I just needed to have some distance between "us". I any case, I don't know where you are... I have the air cleaner, and it's still for sale. I have local leads on "ok" steel factory fenders, and I have some pretty bad but usable '72-4 steel fenders I could use. But with new steel coming, I'd rather not go thru the hassle. I'm not worried about if the lines are perfect, or they jump on themselves. I've seen the issues with the challenger fenders, and I wouldnt ***** about them. Cheap steel means you spend to fix, whether it's factory or aftermarket. So I want to drive my car, and race it. I'll put in the time I need to to make them look as good as anything the assembly line did. With Mopar, that aint too hard. PM me with where you are, maybe I can take a ride and you can take a gander at that air cleaner.
