Honestly what I would be doing is removing the inner shaft from both columns & swap with stroker , yuo both need what the other has

Swap out the shafts its easy.. Better to be safe than sorry.

On my A-Body race car I moved to wheelbase (bending the rules a little) which made the inner column shaft longer ( I guess it was at the end of the shaft) I must have made hundreds of runs over the years and I made a run and as I was turning on to the return road at the track I heard a snap and had zero steering. The steering wheel spun like a top. Thank god it broke after my run or it could have been pretty ugly..(scared the crap out of me)...
