T/A Hood Front Trim question?
« on: February 23, 2008 - 02:44:16 PM »
I have made an offer on a T/a hood.  Now I want to know what all other parts are needed for the swap. I am swapping from a flat hood to T/a style hood.  I am assuming that the trim piece off of the regular challenger flat hood doesn't fit the T/a hood?  Anyone know?

Thanks for the help,

Vanished

I don't see why the original hood trim wouldn't work on your T/A hood. At most, I would think you would just have to drill the holes if they aren't already pre-drilled. If your T/A hood is going to have hinges, those will be different than the originals. They will have lighter springs for the fiberglass.

There is a seller on Ebay with the T/A hood trim for sale.  I bought the cheapest one from YO and made it work, I was painting it eitherway.

Tom

Not sure what the difference is for the T/A trim. :dunno:

The trim itself is the same if you have a 1970 hood. (fasteners through the front vs. the bottom used later)

The difference is that the 'glass hood has a thicker front flange, so you need trim clips with longer studs.

Tom at R/T Speciaties sells them.
