Brake lights
« on: February 27, 2008 - 04:51:19 PM »
I have lost the brake lights, I have running lights, and turn signals, but no brake lights :clueless: any suggestions?. I have decided to call it a day, the fumes from the car are starting to make my head hurt.

Do you have rear marker lights? Rear Turn signals? Have you checked the fuse?

There is a switch that turns the brake lights on. There is a gray wire leading up to it above your brake pedal. Maybe you knocked your's off like I did once.  :banghead:  The brake lights and turn signals share the same bulb filaments, so this isn't a grounding problem.

Pink & white at the brake light switch if it is not there check the fuse you should have a constant 12v @ the switch , if the wires are connected & have power the problem is probably in the turn signal switch

This is a picture of  the brake pedal area, I have the red and orange wire OK, but should I have another wire on the empty post on the top side of the switch?

Problem solved! I hooked the one wire that looked suspect. I must have knocked it off while working on the fuse block.
